Part 3: Reading the Market
Part 2 showed you how to tell whether a product makes money. Part 3 helps you judge whether it will actually sell, how quickly, and at what price, so the profit you calculated turns into real payouts.
| Chapter | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Chapter 8: BSR, sales and demand | Best Sellers Rank, why it only makes sense within a category, BSR %, and estimated vs confirmed sales |
| Chapter 9: Reading a Keepa chart | The lines on an Amazon.com price-history chart, the patterns worth spotting, and seasonality, including Q4 |
| Chapter 10: Competition and the Buy Box | How the Buy Box works, how many sellers is too many, selling alongside Amazon, and suppressed Buy Boxes |
These three chapters sit behind the Momentum question in the Lead Check (Part 5): does it sell steadily, and has its price held up? Together with Match, Money and Safety, Momentum leads you to one of four decisions: Buy, Test-buy, Watch or Pass.
Reading the market is a skill you build by doing.
No one gets it right from a single chart. Look at a few products every day, compare what you expected with what actually happened (your Test-buys are perfect for this), and you'll be quicker and more confident within a few weeks.
