Chapter 3.1: Choosing your Amazon selling plan
Amazon has two selling plans. This page explains how they differ, and why you'll want the Professional plan to use ArbiSource.
The two plans
| Individual | Professional | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly fee | None | $39.99 a month |
| Per-item fee | $0.99 per item sold | None |
| Referral fees and FBA fees | Yes | Yes |
| Works with ArbiSource | No | Yes |
| Best for | Selling the odd item now and then | Anyone running a reselling business |

Why Professional?
- ArbiSource needs it. ArbiSource uses your seller account's connection to Amazon to pull live pricing and check which products you're allowed to sell. That connection is only available on the Professional plan.
- It's cheaper once you sell regularly. At $0.99 an item, the Individual plan costs more than the flat monthly fee once you're selling around 40 or more items a month.
- It gives you business tools: reports, applying to sell in restricted categories and brands, and adding users so a VA (virtual assistant) can help without sharing your login.
You can start on Individual and switch to Professional at any time in Seller Central. If you're planning to use ArbiSource, though, it's simplest to choose Professional from the start.
