Chapter 21: Worked examples in ArbiSource
Chapter 22 works through the numbers behind six leads. This chapter follows the same kind of leads through ArbiSource itself, from the moment you find them to the moment you buy or pass, so you can see which button to press at each step. Each walkthrough starts from a different place in the app.
Walkthrough 1: from the Vault to a Test-buy
- Open the Vault, choose the Stores tab and pick a retailer with Match Type: UPC/EAN.
- Your Global Filters are applied automatically. Set Sort By to Confirmed Monthly Sales so the steadiest sellers come first.
- Click CHECK RESTRICTIONS and switch on Remove results I can't sell (Pro and Premium). On Essentials, use the CHECK button on each result you like.
- Pick a result with a green header and a good deal score. Read the header (Profit | ROI | BSR | Buy Box), then hover over Fees to see the breakdown.
- Look at the past-performance table. Here the 90-day average Sell Price still gives a profit above your minimum, so the Money question is green.
- Click your Keepa button. The price has held steady, but the listing only has a few months of history, so Momentum is amber.
- Check Total Sellers, IP Status and Hazmat/DG, and compare the photos. The barcode match makes Match green.
- Click Add to Sourcing List. One amber and three greens: Test-buy. Check the live price on the retailer's site and buy a small quantity.
Walkthrough 1, step 4: a UK Vault result from a UPC/EAN store with a green header, the Fees tooltip open and the past-performance table visible.
Walkthrough 1, step 6: the same product's Keepa chart opened from the Keepa custom button (cropped to title, chart and legend).
Walkthrough 2: a Price Drop caught early
- First thing in the morning, open Price Drops (Pro and Premium) with MATCHED selected.
- Set the Discount % filter to 40% or more and Sort By to Most Recent.
- Click CHECK RESTRICTIONS with Remove results I can't sell on.
- A result shows a large drop badge with the old buy price crossed out. The profit at today's Buy Box is good, but check the 90-day average in the past-performance table before you get excited.
- Open Keepa. If the Amazon price is near its usual level, the drop is real profit. If Amazon's price has spiked, plan on the average.
- Price Drops aren't refreshed after they're found and are removed after 48 hours, so open the retailer's page and confirm the price and stock before you buy.
- Decide. If it's a Buy or Test-buy, order now: good drops sell out. If it's a Watch, set an alert (bell icon) for the Amazon price you need.
Walkthrough 2, step 4: a UK Price Drops result with the drop badge, the old buy price crossed out and the new price, plus the top bar with MATCHED selected and CHECK RESTRICTIONS.
Walkthrough 3: a Store Scan with a discount code
- You have a 10% code for a retailer on ArbiSource. Go to Scans → Store and pick that retailer.
- Select its Clearance categories, then enter 10 in Discount on the selection card on the right.
- Leave Filters on Account Filters, tick Email me when scan is complete and click START SCAN.
- When the email arrives, open Completed Scans and click View Results. Every price already includes your 10%.
- On Pro and Premium the scan has already checked restrictions, so tick Exclude Restricted/Gated in the Filters drawer.
- Read the promotion message under any price that has one (for example a multi-buy) before trusting it.
- Add the best three to five results to your Sourcing List and run the Lead Check on each.
Walkthrough 3, step 2: the UK Store Scan set-up with Clearance categories selected and 10 entered in the Discount field of the selection card.
Walkthrough 3, step 4: the Completed Scans list with View Results and Re-Run Scan.
Walkthrough 4: a reverse search of your own storefront
- Find your own seller ID in your storefront address (after seller= or me=).
- Go to Scans → Reverse, choose Bulk Search and paste the ID into Search a Storefront.
- Choose No Filters for this first search and start the scan.
- In the results, look for products you already sell that ArbiSource can source more cheaply than you pay now, or from a retailer you don't use.
- For any you buy repeatedly, open the result in your Sourcing List and use Mark as Replenishable (Pro and Premium) so ArbiSource tracks every source for you.
Walkthrough 4, step 2: the Reverse Search page in a UK account with Bulk Search selected and a seller ID in Search a Storefront (seller ID blurred or example).
Walkthrough 5: a lead you pass on
- A Vault result shows a high profit, but Match Confidence is 62%.
- Compare the photos and titles. The Amazon listing is a pack of three; the retailer sells one.
- That's a red for Match, so the decision is Pass, whatever the profit says.
- Click Report Mismatch so it's hidden from your results (Chapter 11). If the arrow next to the Amazon product name shows other matches, check whether the single item has its own listing.
Walkthrough 5, step 2: a UK result where the retailer product is a single item and the Amazon listing is a multipack, with Match Confidence visible and Report Mismatch on the right.
What the walkthroughs show
- Start where the leads are freshest for you: Price Drops in the morning, the Vault any time, scans for your own discounts.
- Clear out restricted products before you spend time on a lead.
- Judge the average price, not today's, and confirm it in Keepa.
- Save first, decide second: the Sourcing List keeps leads after results are deleted.
Checklist
- I've followed one walkthrough end to end in my own account
- I check restrictions before reading leads in detail
- I confirm the live retailer price before every purchase
